Keynote Speaker


Professor Ewa Bińczyk specializes in contemporary philosophy of science and technology, science and technology studies, and the sociology of scientific knowledge and controversies in science. Her current research focuses on environmental rhetoric, ecological economics, degrowth, and the challenges of the Anthropocene.

She is the author of several books, including:
  • Socjologia wiedzy w Biblii [The Sociology of Knowledge in the Bible] (Nomos, 2003)

  • Epoka człowieka. Retoryka i marazm antropocenu [The Age of Man: Rhetoric and Marasmus of the Anthropocene], (PWN, 2018) — translated into Russian (2022) and Ukrainian (2023), nominated for the Długosz Award (2019), and featured on Polityka and Studio Theatre's 20 Books to Read in the 21st Century list
  • Uspołecznianie antropocenu. Ekowerwa i ekologizowanie ekonomii [Socializing the Anthropocene: Ecological Vitality and the Greening of the Economy], (NCU, 2023) - in 2025 was nominated for the Marcin Król Prize in Poland

Professor Ewa Bińczyk is a member of the Forecast Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Expert Council of the Climate Coalition, and the Council of the Climate Education Foundation.
